| | My Favorite Bruce Springsteen album | 17.12.2018
Although I know Bruce Springsteen and his band are, and have been extremely talented, I never resonated with his music until this album came out. This is one of my favorite albums. I really like how he shared his personal life on this album. Now, I am listening to his autobiography "Born To Run". I'm so impressed with the talent he has at transferring his thoughts and feelings into the written word. He is a down to earth and soulful person who I greatly admire.

A good sounding record here. The depth is adequate. Upper end detail is very good, crisp and clear with a realistic quality. The tone is a little cool on some tracks warmer on others. This vinyl release does sound better than the original CD I have with a little more depth and detail. The vinyl itself gets only a passing grade since there are some small ticks a little too often throughout these records.

Tunnel of Love is a very good album if you have a deep interest in his personal life and can identify with his feelings of loneliness and low self-esteem. However, it does not measure up to its predecessor: Born In the USA. Born In the USA is upbeat and most every one of its songs wants to make you get up and dance and the songs are typically 2 to 4 minutes in length. Born In the USA is like bright and sunny weather as compared to Tunnel of Love which can seem like cloudy or rainy day music.

Only 1 really great song on here, which is the tittle track, however it was worth it! I am old fashioned and do not use the mpg player! Lost this album to my ex in our divorce, nice to hear it again!!

This album is an absolute masterpiece that grows on the listener over time. The songs are written in such a way that I can vividly see myself in the singers situations described. Absolutley timeless!
| | Quite Possibly His Finest Hour | 01.10.2013
By the mid-80s Bruce Springsteen was riding high. He had a smash album with 1984's Born in the U.S.A. and was surfing a wave of commercial and critical success beyond his wildest dreams. While his career was in an unstoppable climb, his personal life was slowly crumbling. His first marriage was falling apart and this in turn led Bruce to shed his working-man persona in favor of more intimate, personal songs based around the trials of relationships on his next record, 1987's Tunnel of

| | The Boss hits the lurve button...sing-a-long boys | 24.05.2013
This is the album of Bruce Springsteen I enjoy the most. Bar the first track "I Ain't Got You", it is pretty even. It drips mood. Good song follows good song. Released in 1987, it has stayed in my heart ever since. "If yer lookin fur lurve, then I-ham tuffer than the rest". Wot a Geordie belter of a bit of crack. And the lyrics crackle with insight. Such as "Walk Like A Man", "One Step Up" and "Valentine's Day". The music is more mellow
| | great album | 21.02.2013
I really liked this Bruce Springstein album. This was one of his more arty albums. It shows "THE BOSS" isn't just about top 10 pop songs but has real talent. "Spare Parts" and "Ain't got you" are great songs.
| | 17.02.2013

I loved this album! I consider it was of Bruce's best, with many of my favorites. I have always enjoyed all of his music, but this has my all time favs on it- Human Touch, and One Step Up.The price on this cd was great-and delivered fast!Very happy with this seller.
| | One Step Up and Two Steps Back - on Bruce Springsteen's Tunnel of Love album | 17.10.2011
The song "One Step Up and Two Steps Back" is my favorite song on Bruce Springsteen's Tunnel of Love album. It's hauntingly sad and something I think a lot of folks can identify with. I bought the album just for this song which I consider Springsteen's very best sad song. It should have been on at least one of his "greatest" or "best of" collections. Oh well, I had to have it so I had to buy "Tunnel of Love." If you like sad songs, this is

| | "At night I get down on my knees and pray / Our love will make that other man go away" | 24.01.2011
On Tunnel of Love, Bruce Springsteen moves on from the blue-collar sentiments of Born in the USA and mostly examines his own personal life, particularly the state of his then troubled marriage. From its start with "Ain't Got You," where Bruce sings "I got houses `cross the country honey end to end / And everybody buddy wants to be my friend," it's clear that this album is a reflection of his life after the blockbuster success of Born in the USA. If anything, Tunnel
| | Springsteen's mature album | 28.09.2010
TUNNEL OF LOVE is Springsteen at his most mature. The album shows his wariness of romance, while still believing that love is worth the effort. The line "you, me and all that stuff we're so scared of" in the title song sums up the attitude. He knows that "all that stuff we're so scared of" is less scary when we face it. Similarly, in the song "Brilliant Disguise" he explores how much we hide ourselves when romance is on the line. As always, Springsteen is
| | Bruce's 2nd solo. | 22.09.2010
Bruce Springsteen's "Tunnel Of Love" #1 in 1987, is his second solo album, even though most of the E-Street Band showed up on certain songs. After the big selling "Born In The U.S.A.", this a 360 degree effort, from "Born's" arena anthems. The sparse "Ain't Got You", opens up the disc, followed by the hit "Tougher Than The Rest", with swirling organ by Danny Federici."All That Heaven Will Allow"-#5 mainstream rock, with that
| | The Boss at His Best | 22.08.2010
Tunnel of Love is one of the really great Springsteen collections. There is not a weak piece on the CD. I once read in an article that he wrote these songs while his first marriage was tanking, and the underlying emotions show through. Whenever a friend is considering divorce, I recommend that they listen to "When You're Alone" for some perspective.
| | What can I say | 11.07.2010
that hasnt already been said by the other reviewers. I'm very much enjoying this album, its a side of "the boss" that was rarely seen but is, like all the rest of his music, a window into his soul.Amazon is as always on the top of their game, product was shipped without delay and arrived in perfect condition.
| | Bruce's Best Album. | 08.01.2010
At the height of the mammoth success of "Born in the U.S.A.," Bruce Springsteen made some major changes in his personal life as well - he brought a bigger house and got married to actress Julianne Phillips. Though seemingly happy with his newfound megastardom and supermodel wife, all was not well under the surface. The pressures and responsibilities of Springsteen's personal and artistic lives had taken his toll on him. He was unsure about the direction his life was going in, and
| | when it all falls apart, out go the lights... | 07.10.2009
While he has had greater releases before and after this album, Tunnel of Love remains one of my favorite Springsteen albums ever. I was just sitting in the library at college doing my work while listening to this album. When It was finished, I was like man, that's a great record. That it is. It contains several "should have been hits" in the US such as "Tougher than the Rest," "Walk Like A Man," and "Two Faces," while the hits (Tunnel of Love,

This is my personal favorite record of Springsteen. For me it would be behind Darkness On The Edge of Town for Bruce's best album. I have listened to this album all Spring and the thoughts and emotions that he convey thoughout the album are very soul searching. I love the positive and the negative on this album. I love the scenes that are set on this album and the songwriting. Bruce bares his soul about relationships and it is such a heart wrenching record. Favorite cut is Valentine's
| | "Got to learn to live with what you can't rise above" | 27.06.2009
Following the biggest record of his career, rock icon Bruce Springsteen took a u-turn and followed  Born in the U.S.A.  with "Tunnel of Love" in 1987 as his first marriage unraveled. In light of  Born in the U.S.A. 's rocking performances and profiles of post-Vietnam middle America, "Tunnel of Love" is a somber and personal effort. The heroes of "Tunnel of Love" are not the helpless working class of  Born
| | A MASTERPIECE | 01.02.2009
What an utterly amazing CD. I remember in 1987 hearing Brilliant Disguise and feeling the emotional raw talent that came from the single. The album and now CD are infused with such great songwriting and talent. Bruce Springsteen is an utter genius and is one of the most talented song writer sin our generation. The whole CD displays such an emotional and touching symbolism. Anyone who has ever been in love and has experienced heartbreak can relate to the raw emotions. One Step Up and Tunnel of

I was introduced to Bruce Springsteen by way of Born in the USA. My absolute first all time concert was Bruce in Lexington's Rupp Arena Dec. 1984. First and still the best concert I've ever attended. I then proceeded to catch up starting with Greetings From Asbury Park to Born in the USA and have been hooked ever since. If someone asked me to pick 1 single Bruce album to listen to I'd recommend Tunnel of Love. Bruce's music spans a lot of time and a lot of styles and genres.
| | Tunnel of Greatness | 06.08.2008
If you are lookin for an album with rockin tunes than this not the album to get. This is the type of album that makes it a risky move on an artist who just had a lot of hits on his previous record. He still had two top ten hits. Brilliant Disguise and the title track. A couple of the songs he does by himself. Aint Got You, My Happy Valentine, Cautious Man and One Step Up he does byself, well, One Step Up does have backup vocals by his future wife. It is also the last album he used the E Street

THIS IS ACTUALLY A BREATH OF FRESH AIR AFTER THE SUPER COMMERCIALLY SUCCESSFUL BORN IN THE U.S.A. SOMETIMES SONGS FROM AN ALBUM BECOME TIRING AFTER HEARING THEM SO MANY TIMES ON THE RADIO. THAT IS WHY I LIKE THIS ALBUM. BESIDES BRILLIANT DISGUISE AND TUNNEL OF LOVE, TOUGHER THAN THE REST IS AN EXCELLENT SONG THAT MAKES THIS ONE WORTH ADDING TO YOUR SPRINGSTEEN COLLECTION!!

After the brilliant Born in the USA, this is all Bruce could offer. Interesting... anyway, the whole damn thing is smothered in '80's production, which is one count against it. The lyrics, which were supposed to be personal but turned out weak, are another. To make things even worse, Clarence Clemon's doesn't play a NOTE on this recording. The silver lining is Brilliant Disguise, which is indeed brilliant, plus he cooks up a nice extended metaphor on the title track. Even then,
