The game that allows you to control any one of Europe's many Pre 15th century countries, most of which are now long dead. a game that could take weeks to complete and cause you to invest many hours in. I always loved to play Paradox games, it is the same with this one. You must like strategy games to even think about trying this - otherwise you will get lost in sheer complexity of EU3. The only thing I was disappointed with, is the fact that you are not able to buy any add-ons through Steam when you have boxed version already. They just won't install.

Vorab: Meine Kritik bezieht sich auf dieses Spiel mit der Erweiterung "Heir to the Throne" Diese Erweiterung gibt es leider nur im Direkt-Download-Kauf. Dieses Spiel ist meiner Meinung nach die absolute Spitze der Strategiespiele. Ich habe schon jede Version der Total War - Reihe gespielt, doch keines dieser Spiele hatte eine solche Langzeitmotivation und Spieltiefe. Europa Universalis 3 ist kein Spiel für Einsteiger oder Aktionsüchtige, doch wird jeder, der einmal einen Staat selber fürhren möchte, an diesem Spiel seine wahre Freude haben. Got a few days of your life to spare?? Highly adictive game. *Beware* It takes a longtime to pick this game up and understand it and i'm a veteran of this type of game, but once you get the true feel for it, it's hard to stop playing. I only played this for a few days and got a bit frustrated with the game mechcanics, i then went back to it a few months later and got right into the game. Helps to check out the Paradox forums for info and pointers. Would recommend 4GB+ Ram to run this

ein gut gelungener Zeitvertreib, nicht unbedingt für Anfänger geeignet, da doch sehr komplex (einfach ungestümes Expandieren wird jedes Reich überfordern) viele nette Details, wie Papst- und Kaiserwahl machen das Spiel zu etwas besonderem. einziges Manko ist aus meiner Sicht, dass man die Schlachten nicht selbst spielen kann. Fazit: nichts für Taktiker, sondern für Strategen.

Von der Einstellung von Beratern, die Inverstition in der Forschung, Anzahl der Generäle.... diplomatische Möglichkeiten.... Leute, die eher schnellen Krieg spielen wollen... würde ich davon abraten. This game is possibly the most addictive game I've ever played but that doesn't make it the best game I've ever played. It's addictive because it seems to promise so much and keeps you playing to achieve what it seems to promise but ultimately it never satisfies. As well as being the most addictive game I've ever played its probably also the most complex. In fact its just too complex to to adequately describe here but here's a rough overview. Ums vorweg zu sagen. Der eine Stern bezieht sich nicht auf die Qualität des Spiels. Die kann ich nämlich nicht beurteilen, weil es sich auf meinen 2 PCs nicht zum laufen bringen lässt. Einer davon brandneu mit Vista, der andere 3 Jahre alt mit XP. Bei beiden gibts nur Fehlermeldungen. Nach Stöbern in diversen Foren, habe ich die vorgeschlagenen "work-arounds" um das Spiel doch ans laufen zu bringen absolviert und es läuft doch nicht. Mal abgesehen davon, daß man bei einem GEKAUFTEN

You can choose any starting point from 1399 to 1800s and whatever date you pick down to the day effects the world map down to real events that happened. Europa Universalis is the best game in the Grand Strategy market. It takes most countries in existence from 1399 onwards and delivers a changing world based on the interactions between those countries. Each nation can make war, peace, alliances, join personal unions, compete for trade, religious influence, and colonies. This is not the game for those looking for something quick and easy, or for first rate graphics. EU3 does not provide anything of the sort. It is about the longue duree.

Aber Achtung: Sehr langwierig und zeitintensiv mit vielen Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten.Für Genreliebhaber ein Muß, für andere ev. zu langweilig da zuwenig Action, zuviele Einstellungsmöglichkeiten, Abhängigkeiten usw.Diese Kollektion beinhaltet auch die beiden verfügbaren Addons (In Nomine und Napoleon(?oder so ähnlich))
