Love this ladies voice . Her imagination in her writing suggests she is a wise lady. The words of her tracks fall parallel with the journey of most of our lives. I found myself watching Love Actually when it first came out and the scene in the bedroom and her last track on the album. Unfortunately this moment in life we will all have experienced in one sense.

Yes her voice reflects her seniority and she can certainly hold a tune, but it's not pressing my buttons.

Habe die CD von meinem Mann zu Weihnachten bekommen. Nachdem ich eine Kette erwartete, war ich zuerst ein wenig enttäuscht. Doch ihre sanfte Stimme hat mir den Heilig Abend versüßt.

A fine album. A reworking of old jazz standards and two of her own songs. Her vocal performance is excellent and the orchestral backing exemplary. I personally prefer the original version of 'Both Sides Now', but this is also a legitimate treatment. 'Comes Love', 'Stormy Weather' and 'I Wish I were In Love Again' are my favorites of the 1920's to 40's renditions.
A work of art full of swirling textures of sound. A successful venture.

Difficile ridurre a poche righe la carriera della Mitchell ma dare indicazioni su questo lavoro non è affatto difficile, almeno se vi piacciono gli standards di quell' American Book cari alla tradizione della Tin Pan Alley e all' epoca d'oro di certi crooners quali Sinatra e Bennett o cantanti quali Fitzgerald e la Holiday. La Mitchell,aiutata da un' orchestra e da grandissimi musicisti quali Wayne Shorter e Herbie Hancock tra i presenti, rilegge parte di quelle pagine

If you are already a fan of Mitchell, you’ll appreciate this blues and jazz album. I like most of her music, but this collection is by far my favorite. If you like blues and jazz, this is the one to go with from Mitchell. Her voice sounds hauntingly beautiful, the musical accompaniment is astounding, and the overall sound is classic, jazz and blues at its finest. The title song sounds phenomenal here versus others in my opinion.

When I first got this CD I must have played the song "At Last" close to ten times. I could not get enough of it. Eventually I ventured to other tracks and several really moved me. Probably tops on that list was "A Case of You," here re-interpreted by an older and wiser Joni Mitchell.
The interesting thing about this CD is that I hardly ever play it end to end. It's almost always a particular selection that I want to listen to. Part of that perhaps is that the songs often
