Nach einigen Versuchen unter verschiedenen Pseudonymen hat Karen Souza offensichtlich ihre Nische gefunden. Ein unglaublich passende Stimme um langsamere Pop-Klassiker jazzig zu vertonen. Die Lieder sind bekannt, die Versionen von Karen Souza reichen von gut bis überragend. Stings Shape of my heart zum Beispiel ist in der neuen Fassung ein unglaublich schönes neues Lied das man kaum wiedererkennt aber gleichzeitig eine neue Qualität erfährt. Conocí a Karen Souza por referencias y compré Essentials (1) y la verdad es que me fascinó, me pareció sencillamente original y elegante. E' risaputo che da diverso tempo le case discografiche sono in crisi e purtroppo a discapito sulla qualità dei materiali e delle registrazioni, e tutto ciò che viene utilizzato In questo caso il cd è nella versione digipack realizzata con un cartoncino veramente misero, io rimpiango ancora le versioni in cui si trovava un vero proprio libretto pieno di foto immagini e testi delle canzoni e i nomi dei vari artisti ma purtroppo le case discografiche devono tagliare il più possibile Ora
