Was previously using a scalpel, metal rule and a cutting mat to trim the mounts. This has speeded up the whole process and is safer to boot. Recommend.

Not only did this not cut regular paper it ruined several stamp mounts. Its garbage if you need a cutter just go buy a standard one!

I like that this is a relatively compact cutter. The blade swings down a bit rough and catches against the back of the cutting bed when making a slice. Hopefully this will ease up with continued use.

Cutting the SHOWGARD BLACK MOUNT STRIPS has been a lot quicker, more accurate, and easier than I was expecting. I have used other brands and types of cutters, but the Lighthouse Stamp Mount Cutter with its Measuring Scale Bar has allowed me to trim and cut the mounts to the correct size.

Sehr gutes Produkt für den Zuschnitt von kleinen Folienstreifen, Fotos und ähnlichem sehr zu empfehlen.Ist zwar leider aus Plastik, aber wenigstens das Messer ist aus Metall. Dafür ist das Teil aber auch schön leicht.

I made a sleight modification to extend the length of it to fit six image 35mm negative strips and it cuts very cleanly. It was just what I needed.

At first when I received the cutter in the mail and put it together it seemed sturdy, but I wasn't sure. Well I will tell you, I am impressed. I spend a few hours a day using this product. It works well on most mounts like Mystic and any in those category but it also has no problem cutting some mounts from china made out of a much sturdier plastic. My concern was how long the blade would last before it was dull and needed to be thrown out. Well I have had this for over a year and I use it

the "adjustable stop" for making multiple cuts works fine......if you have some adhesive tape to make it stay in the same place. Cheap plastic, good value, good cutting blade....and accurate.,

I tried to research on the subject of stamp mount cutters and didn't find much to discern one brand as better than another. There seems to be about 4 or 5 brands, all essentially the same configuration, and prices range someplace around $22 to $28 (check prices and shipping charges to get totals or you could overpay). So I went with the German-made Lighthouse Cutter; I am now using it and pretty satisfied. There were absolutely no instructions on how to use it so I am still experimenting,

Well worth spending the extra money. much better more precise and accurate cut than the 10 dollar one I got from Wal-Mart. Only complaint I have is its hard to see the numbers. They would be better if they were a White color to help them stand out. At 60 i don't see as well as I used to.

This is the third stamp mount cutter I have purchased. I gave up on the last one and was cutting the mounts with scissors. This cutter is the best thing since sliced bread. I absolutely love it. I wish I had purchased one a long time ago. It's absolutely easy to use and cuts the mounts straight every time.

This cutter is the best I have used ... good design features make it simple to use and it makes nice clean cuts every time. I like the sliding length guide, easy to read mm ruler on the front, and the lip that secures the mount strips. No problem cutting the smallest sized mounts from strips, and the larger bed allows for wider strips to accommodate all but the largest souvenir sheet mounts. Lightweight, but feels like it will hold up to heavy use. Very pleased.

Accurate cuttting of stamp mounts to dispay stamps in an album. Yet mounts can display signs on poster board or newspaper clippimgs, or even postcards.. Restaraunts can display feature items (mounts are clear and easily cot very neatly to sixe) Mounds available in many sizes both black and clear on back : looks very pro. However do not cut paper with this device, it will dull blade very quickly. Germany produces great stamp collecting items, Lighthouse is probably the best out there.ENJOY!

This product works perfectly. It is the best accessory I have ever bought for my stamp collecting hobby. It makes cutting the mount strips easy and does a beautiful job. I only regret that I went years without it, trying every method under the sun to get accurate cuts and failing miserably. This makes the job a snap. I can't recommend it enough. Get one. You won't be disappointed and you'll save yourself

This cutter is just not that great, seems kinda cheap to me. I like the smaller version better. This larger one has a decent cutting blade, but the numbers for size cutting are hard to see and the sliding size adjuster is to loose and that makes you have to hold the adjuster and check it every time you make a cut. (Pain to deal with if you are doing alot of cuts) This item is just OK - I would not buy another one like it in the future. I would just go ahead and buy the more expensive version, or
