I bought this because I can't handle the "FLUSHING" when taking Niacin. This Niacin is meant to be SUSTAINED RELEASE which means it releases a little Niacin at a time. This does not work like that it dumps the whole lot of 500 mg into your bloodstream. I had so much pain, almost overheated my system. So i took 1/5 tablet... no luck, same result.
I bought another product from another maker and it worked much better, no flushing with the other (cheap) brand. Disappointed.

Ok so I did not realize how great these were until I got my prescription Niacin from the pharmacy. Now I'm thanking goddess that the pharma was out when I first went, and that I found these NOW supplements on the shelf. After trying one of the prescription ones, OH MY GOD I wanted to rip my skin off, I got flushed so bad it was pure misery!! By comparison, with these I often skip the flushing (knowing what to eat with it helps a lot so do your research) and when I do get the flushing

I took 2 other meds at the same time I startin this one, I got a rash all over my body, which was horrible. At first started to feel my body hot and then broke out in bumps everywhere, thinking it was the other pills. I continued this one. I then Stopped all my vitamins.

This caused a severe reaction both to my skin and blood glucose levels. I am a T2 diabetic and when taking this it cause my blood sugar to sky rocket and not come down while taking just one tablet a day. ALSO, it cause severe burning sensation on my skin and a red rash all over my head, neck, chest and arms that lasted a couple of hours.
This occurred several times while taking this and was not an isolated incident. It did not happen every time that I took one of these tablets, but it happened

One pill is just too strong. I ended up biting off little pieces of a pill. If you are going to use them, get a pill slicer. They do work, but after that first pill, I had such a long bout of heat all over. I never wanted that again.

I can’t claim this product is trash because there are tons of good reviews. However, if you are reading the reviews, like I did, and read about the flushing, be warned. I thought, oh what could a little flushing harm …… nope, I took it only once 3 days ago and I still have some skin irritation. READ the LABEL! It does say that it gives HOT FLUSHES. It's called the "niacin flush".
It's not dangerous but if you don't know what happens when it happens, you think that something is seriously wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if some people would call 911 for help. Do your research first before you take NIACIN.

I was having issues with my lips being chapped and burning. I did some research and found that this fixes that issue. However the bottle states to take one a day but I found that it makes me break out in hives if it’s too much for your body. So I went to every other day of taking it or even a half a pill. It works great and seems to do what it’s suppose to but everyone is different so be aware. Great product.
