I bought this because I can't handle the "FLUSHING" when taking Niacin. This Niacin is meant to be SUSTAINED RELEASE which means it releases a little Niacin at a time. This does not work like that it dumps the whole lot of 500 mg into your bloodstream. I had so much pain, almost overheated my system. So i took 1/5 tablet... no luck, same result.
I bought another product from another maker and it worked much better, no flushing with the other (cheap) brand. Disappointed.

I bought this to help with my cholesterol. I took it for almost 2 years. I was diagnosed with panic attacks because the doctor didn't realize I was taken niacin and the flushing was so severe. I would break out in hives and people would ask me if I had a sunburn. It felt like I was covered in ants and I would scratch until I bled. I take SR Niacin to increase by good cholesterol and have one so for 6or 7 years. This is the first DR product that causes horrible flushing. I started taking at night to try to reduce the flushing, and now I wake up in the middle of the night with pins and needles in my face, neck and torso, as well as extremities. I won't buy this one again.

Ok so I did not realize how great these were until I got my prescription Niacin from the pharmacy. Now I'm thanking goddess that the pharma was out when I first went, and that I found these NOW supplements on the shelf. After trying one of the prescription ones, OH MY GOD I wanted to rip my skin off, I got flushed so bad it was pure misery!! By comparison, with these I often skip the flushing (knowing what to eat with it helps a lot so do your research) and when I do get the flushing

I took 2 other meds at the same time I startin this one, I got a rash all over my body, which was horrible. At first started to feel my body hot and then broke out in bumps everywhere, thinking it was the other pills. I continued this one. I then Stopped all my vitamins.
Because I wanted to slowly bring them back gauging, what does what.
So I started this one 2 days ago,
and today I started to feel hot And slowly Began to Get a rash all over my body. I now know that this is the pill that caused

This product still causes me to get flushed so bad that it feels like ants or needles all over my body. I’ve tried taking it during all different times of the day. With food, etc Maybe they’ll work for someone else but not for me. If this is slow release, to reduce flush, I’d sure be scared to try something that wasn’t!

I feel activated with this product. I do get a flush and it can be irritating but it is work firing up the brain and allowing this amino to do its job. I feel clear headed and better skin.

I tried another brand with no issues. This was actually scary to me. Made my face feel tingly and then hot. I thought i was having a stroke. Of course i know its a side effect of Niacin but since i had been taking it everyday for a month then switched to thr brand when i ran out, i didn't suspect that it would happen to me.

Niacin has been a noticeable add to my daily vitamin regimen. I missed it for a couple days and felt my energy depleted so apparently it makes a difference. At least so for me.

This caused a severe reaction both to my skin and blood glucose levels. I am a T2 diabetic and when taking this it cause my blood sugar to sky rocket and not come down while taking just one tablet a day. ALSO, it cause severe burning sensation on my skin and a red rash all over my head, neck, chest and arms that lasted a couple of hours.
This occurred several times while taking this and was not an isolated incident. It did not happen every time that I took one of these tablets, but it happened

One pill is just too strong. I ended up biting off little pieces of a pill. If you are going to use them, get a pill slicer. They do work, but after that first pill, I had such a long bout of heat all over. I never wanted that again.

thought these would be healthy for cardiovascular health, cholesterol health but little did I know I got severe Niacin flush, which means my skin was on fire, chest, neck, back, arms, ears--which led me to the emergency room. They gave me Benadryl and all was better very quickly--great vitamin, just be careful of Niacin flush--read side effects b4 purchase--

I decided to try this brand instead of the usual slow release Niacin I had taken previously. I had never experienced flushing with my other brand, so when I was laying in bed the first night after taking one of these and I suddenly got hot, my skin started itching and felt like it was on fire, I rushed to the mirror to see my skin was visibly red. I think these are working for the intended purpose but hard to say within the first couple weeks of usage. This is a sustained release to minimize flushing but I was kind of hoping to feel that side effect a little as I was curious but I haven't felt a thing. I guess that's better than the opposite where some people turn bright red or something like that. The formulation seems to have changed. The last two bottles of this supplement have not been sustained release, and it's too late to return them. The flush and all-body itching are unpleasant!

I can’t claim this product is trash because there are tons of good reviews. However, if you are reading the reviews, like I did, and read about the flushing, be warned. I thought, oh what could a little flushing harm …… nope, I took it only once 3 days ago and I still have some skin irritation. I woke up, the morning after, in full body hives and felt like my body was on fire! Just be cautious.

READ the LABEL! It does say that it gives HOT FLUSHES. It's called the "niacin flush".
It's not dangerous but if you don't know what happens when it happens, you think that something is seriously wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if some people would call 911 for help. Do your research first before you take NIACIN.

I get horrible flushing when I take this but my husband has no reaction whatsoever. I continued taking it as your body is supposed to get used to it, but I had the opposite reaction. The last time I took it, the redness and burning lasted hours, and I’m talking HOT PINK.

I was having issues with my lips being chapped and burning. I did some research and found that this fixes that issue. However the bottle states to take one a day but I found that it makes me break out in hives if it’s too much for your body. So I went to every other day of taking it or even a half a pill. It works great and seems to do what it’s suppose to but everyone is different so be aware. Great product.
