So much camera in a compact body . Highlight for me is the high speed Panasonic/ Leica zoom lens that is built in. It is perfect for use in a travel camera, and encourages you to take it with you everywhere. It also has the capability to be used as a manual, semi or fully automatic modes . Very happy with this purchase and with the seller , first rate .

I have owned 2 of these cameras over the past 5 years and have found them to be a very good point and shoot camera that is easy to carry around, and I like how it has manual shutter speed and exposure dials, like film cameras. The Leica lens takes excellent sharp images and focuses quickly. You can use either the back screen or the electronic viewfinder to compose your shots.
Another plus is that it can take macro shots and you can change the aspect ratio to 1:1, 3:2, 4:3 and 16:9.

Hi. Very nice camera with lots of control over what you do if you go manual.
Will do 4K Video if you like I do find the little video button a little awkward.
Coat pocket size so will travel.
Can be picked up from £150 upwards to £500 ++++ depending on condition the Mk 2 possibly is a little better don't no much about that but saying that you won't go far wrong with the Mk 1.
I will give it 5 Stars.

This isa camera which remains as good as when it came out! Excellent Leica lens means sharp images with accurate colours. The menu system and control setup of the camera, including the physical buttons are great, and all in a small and well designed, light body. It is a little miracle!

High quality images can be produced from this complex, highly customisable camera. Some research is needed to extract the best from it as the manuals assume a lot of prior experiance of Panasonic cameras, in my opinion. Not a small compact camera and not a huge telephoto range either, this camera with it's fast aperture is ideal for indoor shots. Can be used as a point and shoot but comes into it's own when used as a manual or even semi automatic. The 4K photo option attracted me

Compact digital cameras usually suffer from underwhelming lenses and sensors, the two most important elements. This one, however, pairs an excellent lens with a sensor that’s larger than most others. Add to that tons of features and the option to use full manual controls and you have a real winner! The discontinued mark I version is unbeatable value if bought second hand.

Contacted customer support and asked for a new USB cable ( $9 ) - impossible – they told me I have to return whole package .Good – very good outdoor pictures ( expected ) , nice outdoor and indoor video.Bad - indoor pictures ( may have to experiment more with different settings ), hard to connect WiFi ( LG oled TV and window 10 computer, but to me it is unimportant anyway ) , no sport scene

The camera is a good BEGINNER'S camera or if as an experienced photography who likes to have knobs control everything instead of the quick menu of other much quicker ways available these days. I don't buy the idea that the dials to control F-stop/ISO/SS are easier to use/set than other means. In fact I rarely need to use the menu to assign a setting as both of my cameras have shortcut buttons to do that and the 'quick menu' for the normal stuff you need to set.The camera itself

I purchased this camera at a local online shop before I planned a travel to India.The most important aspect I wished were, 1) not so small but handy size, 2) good color expression, 3) good gradation expressivity, 4) sturdy body construction. I compared several models from SONY, Leica, Panasonic and finally decided to purchase Lumix 100 II (M2) from Panasonic. Its lens was F1.7~2.8 and made by Leica. While I loved the color expression by Leica lenses I gave this a try.Those pictures are all taken

As a complete beginner at photography I can't provide a detailed review, but so far I'd describe this camera as a dark horse. It has a vast array of functions but it's complexity is complimented by multiple dials and rotary controls that allow for rapid experimentation and prototyping of different settings for the same subject/shot.

Owned for about three years and still cant see anything on the market in this category that touches it. Amazing 4k video and great stills. Perfect travel camera in my opinion. Only upgrades Panasonic need to add to the next model is a touchscreen that's adjustable and a microphone plug slot.

A pleasure to use, with main controls to hand, and many function buttons, some of which can be customised. The quick menu is very handy and easy to set to your own preference. Not much need to delve into the main menu. Unusual for a small camera. I think the build quality is very good and it handles well. Image quality and low light performance is in my opinion excellent. It ‘s not my main camera, but I will use it with confidence as and when.

I bought the first generation LX100 which is fine for my modest needs: photos up to four by six mostly and social media. The only feature of the $900 Mark2 model that I like is the in-camera charging as I don’t like touch screen and don’t need more mega pixels.
I like Panasonic menus as they are comprehensive and offer infinite customization which overwhelms some but that and no changing of lenses suits me fine.
However this camera is a complicated little bundle to operate with dials and stops

I did a hands on comparison of this camera, the Sony RX100VA and the Canon G5 X II. I purchased this for use on mountain bicycling the great divide from Montana to Mexico, so landscapes are my primary subject matter.A grip that provides a secure grasp of the camera was an important aspect as I often need to take pictures “right now” while still riding. The photo quality is prettynpoor, especially when you take a photo in the dark.
I have used various cropped sensor (aps-c) DSLR cameras but never a m43 sensors camera.I thought the image would be at least as good as those taken with a four year old Sony rx100 M4, which has a much smaller sensor but no, I was wrong.
Even at iso 100/200 th noise is quite unbearable when there is a dark area in the photo.
When it comes to usability, however, the camera is top notch, even without a now ubiquitous

If you read enough reviews you might come across a problem with this camera where dust accumulates inside of the camera, ruining some of the photographs. I contacted the seller with this issue and they refused to refund. That aside, the camera is ok, definitely lacking some of the good software features most modern cameras have, however the picture quality and simplicity of use is good.Buy at your own risk, be aware of the seller

Having another Linux I thought this would be a great camera. Will not hold settings. Menu barely works. Touch screen gets settings messed up and there is no logic to the menu. Going to send it baclk. Lens very sharp! Very disappointed. Photographer for 60 years.

It’s a lovely little camera, I bought it because I cannot lug about my SLR anymore. Didn’t want to spend a fortune on a camera that was going to be obsolete in 5 years. It’s a joy to use and a great starter camera. I tried a friends Fujifilm XT100F which was fabulous but a bit pricey. This is slightly inferior to that but its quality and value for money make up for it’s small inferiorities

This is a mid-2004 model which Panasonic has, thus far, not replaced. It got good reviews, even at the initial price, because of the fast lens, manual control options, and 4k video, which at the time was available on only 2 or 3 cameras priced at under $2,000.The sub $600 selling price still makes it a contender for the "quality compact" segment of enthusiast cameras. Affordability is a virtue, but you also "get what you pay for." The LX100 does offer a plethora of manual

Great image quality, especially RAW, but it's bulky, cumbersome, and the menus are hard to navigate. And the wheel for ISO, white balance, etc., is too touchy. Not a good camera for "on the go" photography...you can't be fast with it. It attracts dust too. Wouldn't recommend it.

This camera is fiddly; over complicated; small feeble buttons; great lens; the capabilities are off the scale and most users will not use all of them but you are going to need the manual with you at all times if you want to get any good shots. Flash is clip on / clip off, seems to please itself when it fires.Big issue is the battery, it takes 20-30 shots wandering round a street market for example and boom, the battery has gone. It is so small and there is a power management issue with this

At first, I loved this camera. You can control it just like a film rangefinder. Having physical wheels to change aperture, shutter speed and bracketing are amazing. The quality of the images is superb because it has very good optics (Leica lens) BUT, yes there is a big but... The design of this camera has a flaw.The retractable lens pushes the dust inside the camera right through the sensor. I am very careful with my gear, I had the original Panasonic leather case for this camera that I used

I purchased the LX-100 and bought a GX85 instead.Things I like:- Love having the shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation at my fingertips.- Ergonomics are great- Great Lens no question.- 4K Video- Viewfinder works greatThings I did not like:- Image Quality. | The worst camera I've ever used | 2019-03-20
Let's start with the display screen. First my phone is better at letting me see what I am taking, it's normally too dark or washed out. You only see a decent display when you touch the shutter. This is a pocket type camera and the screen is a touch screen. Do you know how many times I accidently changed a setting because I touched the screen. PLEASE let me turn off the touch feature. The zoom is OK. The intellient+ setting is more intelligent---- , washed out photos. I've had
