The drawing on the front of this albumn is a kleinemfanger dke38 german people's radio I have one of these in a vintage radio collection it has swastika on the front the music is classic electronica .And a bit primitive and basic but good kraftwerke wee not the first to use synthesizers in 1939 Vera Lyne sang her classic songs the music was provided by a clavinova synthesizer the inspiration for Robert mood smyths

Being an avid Kraftwerk fan for over 40 years, I was naturally excited about these new remastered releases on 180gm vinyl.I have a relatively high end Hi-Fi setup and use a Microline diamond stylus on the turntable that is capable of wringing every last drop of sonic information out of my record collection.I found that the sound quality on this Radio-Activity album had better stereo separation over the original 1975 LP release but lacked any sonic improvement, infact sonic improvement was

If you listened to Autobahn and Radio-activity , you'd think... no... swear... that Radio-activity was recorded FIRST . Most of the electronics are RAW . [ noises ] The melodies are VERY simple and nowhere near the TECHO-POP of Autobahn . It is ALSO fair to say that Radio-activity is to Kraftwerk what Cyclone was to Tangerine Dream . [ mixed reviews ] All in all , my favorite Kraftwerk album. [ due mainly... BECAUSE of the noises ! ]

If you like Kraftwerk, then you should definitely buy this one! A perfect remaster of the old version. Since I'm a HUGE Kraftwerk, I had to buy this one for my collection. Turned out to be a good addition.

The use of synthetic sound to act as the theme of 'radio' throughout the album is seamlessly crafted into the tracks and in turn, connect the tracks. Radio-Activity is a fine LP, probably the most underrated in the entire Kraftwerk canon, but do yourself a favour and try and score an ORIGINAL vinyl copy (they're still relatively cheap). Listen to it as it was meant to be heard: without needlessly clinical digital remastering, in it's original (superior) packaging featuring the archaic '30s Deutscher-Kleinempfänger radio and, if you're lucky, with a sheet of Radioactivity stickers tucked inside.

You either like Kraftwerk or you don't. If you do, you'll like this. If you don't, you'll hate it. If you don't know Kraftwerk this probably isn't the first of their albums that you should listen to. I would listen to The Man Machine to decide if you want to hear any more, it's a bit more accessible. Autobahn is one of the best albums for driving to, but it does have a hypnotic effect that could see you exceeding the speed limit if you're not careful. Be warned.

This is a Parlophone/Kling Klang vinyl remaster, which I am glad I bought, because the sound is outstanding, and the vinyl is dead quiet. I play it often, and it's never tireing, and of coarse anyone who owns this lp knows it's great. Buy it. You won't regret it.

Radio-Activity is one of the less directly accessible albums from Kraftwerk but it works well for me in the right situations. Its a little more abstract than some of the other more funky albums. Messing with basic oscillators and filters is the only way to make real "hands-on" music.
