| Good album from a prog band but is it prog? | 07/08/2024
This is a good album from a great band. It was supposed to be expertly refurbished but had a jump in it which cured when I correctly cleaned the disc.

Yes en mode relooking avec le producteur des Frankie giesbto Hollywood..étonnant ce virage eighties.. ça n'est plus du rock progressif mais de la pop rock bien ficelé.je trouve les synthés un peu datés mas bien produits. YES or NOT ? J'aime

Like I said before I liked and admired the music but not the rather pretentious lyrics that seemed purposefully obscure. I liked Anderson’s collaboration with Vangelis. This album is underrated and a real enjoyable musical journey! Pleasant surprise.

I’ve always liked yes, but with Trevor Rabin in the lineup,along with Chris Squire, Jon Anderson, Alan White, Tony Kaye this is a classic lineup of yes, you got magic with 90125.

Cet album est un véritablement tournant dans la carrière du groupe.
Premièrement il marque une rupture flagrante dans l'orientation musicale du groupe, ce qui a fait grincer des dents bien des fans de la première heure.
Deuxièmement, et paradoxalement, cette nouvelle orientation musicale plus pop / rock FM a permis de faire connaitre au monde entier le groupe. Du moins jusqu'à la parution de the big generator, où Yes retombera dans le quasi anonymat des médias.

Sometimes a remastered CD sounds worse than the original due to poor mixing, 'brick wall limiting', etc. This is definitely NOT the case with this remaster. They really did it justice. They allow the music room to breathe (you can turn up the volume without it sounding like trash), they did not mess with the original mix that I can tell, but basically tweaked the high frequencies and perhaps added some dynamic compression. Whatever they did, it will blow your socks off on a higher end

In 1981, I once loved most of Yes but had written them off as finished. They got too attached to making concept albums, and everyone lost interest.
Then here comes 90125. Read the liner notes, it is "Yes reimagined" and there is no better summary. Funny thing is I was not ready for a reimagined Yes so, aside from the hit Owner of a Lonely Heart, I ignored this album. But time to time I kept coming back to give it another listen. It is one great song after another.
This is a must-have

Probably one of the best known Yes albums and I agree with Rick Wakeman when says this was very important to keep the band going. Of its time but still wonderful. Hold on and Owner of a lonely heart are magical.

I love, love, love the album, it was perfect in it's original form, I had to get a new one because the old CD got scratched. the addition of the extra songs is great.

| Very very very poor /wish I had my money back | 20/08/2021
The vinyl I have of this album is superb, it's not easy to write a good album & especially one that stands the test of time. So why having succeeded in doing this has the remastered version been changed so much as to trash it, why would you do that. I'm all for progress but not at the expense of the past, why doesn't modernity recognise the value of things past, so many times I see this.
Having bought this with some other classic albums by other artist's they haven't

Da staunten die Fans nicht schlecht: Mit diesem Album erfanden sich die Meister des Prog-Rocks komplett neu. Viele ihrer Anhänger haben ihnen diesen Stilwechsel bis heute nicht verziehen, dabei wurde das 11. Studiowerk der Briten ihr bis dato erfolgreichstes. Noch dazu war das nach seiner Veröffenlichungs-Katalognummer betitelte Album ursprünglich gar nicht als Yes-Erscheinung geplant. Wirklich: Der Werdegang dieser Platte böte genug Stoff für einen Hollywood-Leinwandschinken!

Along with their follow up album 'Big Generator', '90125' is one of if not the best album YES have ever made!, in my opinion, I really like Jon Anderson's vocals which really suite this style of progressive rock!, like 'Big Generator' this is well produced by Trevor Horn. On a side note when I have heard these songs on 'budget' audio equitment ALL the magic of '90125' seems to disapear so, try and listen to this on the best possible audio equitment

This title always makes me think of the Beverly Hills zip code. When this album came out it divided the fan base with the prog rock purists and the ones who kept any open mind ,like myself. Trevor Rabin kept YES ALIVE and well and they achieved plenty of radio play and a new fan base. I found it to be a refreshing album with a different direction and a sense of freedom for the band who was almost dead at this point. Trevor breathed new life into YES and it;s popularity cannot be denied. I love

Get ready--after he says, "I believe in eternity!" you are allowed to sing the sunshiney hold-on chorus as loudly as you'd like. For maximum benefit. Don't worry. Getting arrested is good cardio too. Bring this tune on your phone with you. Sunshine shine on you!

Ive been a yes fan for four decades,this album has one of my favourite songs on it and a extended version aswell of the same song.A change in direction for yes but it worked perfect.If you dont own this album dont wait as long as i did.

Magnífica y remozada versión para los 80 de una de las bandas míticas del rock sinfónico de los 70. Es posible que a algunos fundamentalistas no les guste, y que echen de menos a Steve Howe y Rick Wakeman, pero yo creo que si se escucha el disco sin prejuicios e ideas preconcebidas de lo que debería ser, se puede disfrutar de estupendos temas.

As one of Yes later albums this is a bit 80's but I lost my old vinyl copy and wanted to have it back in my collection. The recording is a bit lackluster. The sound quality on my high end stereo setup is mediocre at best. This no fault of the supplier (or Amazon). Suffice to say if your a fan of Yes you will like the songs on this CD, and the extra tracks included are a nice touch. Just be prepared to dial down the treble, and volume!!

I thought this would have the Leave It Dance Remix but I jumped the gun. I'll keep searching for it. I've heard all the other unreleased songs too on this disc and I highly recommend it for anyone. Especially bassists.

| Completely different sound to Yes on this album | 11/07/2020
Faced with the brash sound of the new wave and punk, and trying to find relevance in the 1980s, Yes went for an AOR mainstream stadium sound. It brought huge commercial success but they lost their soul in the process and never quite regained it. To be fair maybe the era of progressive rock had passed and they could no longer kindle the flames of old. This album has some decent songs but will bore many lovers of earlier Yes music.
